Become a Pickleball Referee
Verified referees keep matches fair, scores accurate and tournaments running on time. Apply with your existing PickleHunter account - our team reviews every application.
What a referee does. Officiate matches, apply the rules impartially, manage scoring and disputes on court, and help organizers run clean events.
Who may apply. Any PickleHunter member with real officiating experience or completed referee training. Playing experience helps but officiating knowledge is what we verify.
Why verification is required. Organizers and players rely on the PickleHunter verification mark, so every application is reviewed by the PickleHunter team before approval.
Supporting documents accepted. Referee certificate, pickleball association certificate, club recommendation letter, tournament organizer recommendation, sports officiating certificate, or another supporting document. Documents are stored privately and are visible only to you and authorized reviewers.
Your responsibilities. Accurate information, impartial officiating, disclosing conflicts of interest, and following tournament rules and PickleHunter's Community Guidelines.
Approval does not guarantee assignments, and referee booking and earnings are not currently available on PickleHunter. This phase covers verification only.
